Jazz genre

Jazz genre has long been a wonderful type of music that has told a story about long-lost misery's as well as lost loves. The tone of the music can be slow and wailing or toned up to truly make you feel it. This type of music has been well known all over the world. Starting from the beginning of the 20th-century, this music type has been influenced by other African and European traditions. The African jazz form is most commonly known as the Blues. There are many other forms of jazz, however this is the beginning that is most commonly recognized.

Jazz realized its inception as early as the 1800's. Jazz genrewas actually started by African-American slaves as a way to pass the time while they were working. It was a way to get people involved as well as to attempt to make them forget the lives they were living. This music form caught on many levels. Free slaves sang this music as well as provided the introduction into other forms of this music. Over time, we saw ragtime, New Oleans style jazz, European style Jazz, Dixieland revival, bebop and cool jazz. Other forms of jazz introduced into the market were hard bop, free jazz, Latin and sould jazz. There are many that believe that jazz was the inception of what is now known as rap and hip hop dance.

When this music form began, there were many socioeconomic issues plaguing the country. It was the height of the slave time and there was little freedom. Slaves cooked, cleaned and had to deal with horrible conditions. Their music was a way to try to forget the current situations and remember a life that they once had.

As time went on and changes in the freedom of slaves came to pass, this jazz genre music form truly evolved. It was still well known with people that were poor and down on their luck, however, many others found this music form to be interesting and fun to listen to and even to dance to. Because this was one of the first music forms in the world, it has seriously influenced all of the other music forms that we hear every day currently.

In this day and age, people that are wealthy or poor, African American or Caucasian and everybody in between enjoy this music. Often, the story in the music can be sad but the music is uplifting. It introduces the listener to a brave world that has had its trials and tribulations.

When this music first started to evolve, the music was just sung. Others listening would provide the tone with vocal background. As time came to pass, musical instruments such as spoons, banjos and even harmonicas were introduced into the mix. This provided an even catchier tone to the music and allowed it to adhere into the minds of the listeners. Many years later, as technology increased, so did the instruments used to play this type of music. pianos and electric guitars have played a large part in setting the mood of jazz genre. Dependant on the type of jazz that you are listening to, the instruments can be different as can the tempo. It can be slow or very similar to swing with a funky twist.

Overall, there are really no social or economic differences that play a part in the widespread love that this music has created. It started during a sad and troubling period of the world and has steadily grown to be one of the most sought after and loved forms of music in the world today. People of every race sing and play this type of music in their own way. This music evokes heritage, mood and a strange type of passion that is not widely understood but is definitely embraced over many generations and loved in many levels. It has been a stepping stone in history that has essentially formed a mountain of change and assisted with the dismissal of diversity. Jazz genre brought people that were thought to be more different than skin color to learn and know about one another. If it wasn’t for the jazz genre, some say that we would still be in a divided culture. We are not positive that would actually be true.

Currently, other types of music from country, to rap and hip hop and everything in between has taken bits and pieces from the jazz revolution. This music has graduated to a level that will insure that it will last for many years to come. Think about it, jazz has lasted over two hundred years in the forms that we know it and actually started much earlier than that as it did begin with tribal music in the African communities as well as the European communities.

This music will live on and evolve to form many other styles of jazz music. It will be integral in our history as the form of music that brought many races together instead of dividing them. The jazz genre has been integral in other areas as well. It was used to make political statements and to be the cry to stop slavery and other injustices. It was the way to mend a broken heart and tell of how one person’s life evolved to what it is currently.

With all of these areas deeply intertwined in jazz, it is amazing that more people do not listen to it. However, this music form is addicting. Take a listen to some of the kings of the blues such as BB King, and Natalie Cole. Both of these will take you on a trip that will make you fall in love with this music. Whichever flavor is enticing to you, jazz can mirror your emotions and let you know that others have felt as you do. Whether you are a first time listener or have listened to the many forms of jazz for years, every time that you listen to this music, it will be fresh and evoke images and memories in your mind. That is what it was designed for.
